There have been several articles in the Korean English-language media over the past year or so that have portrayed the community of foreign English teachers as being divided on the basis of visa type as a result of the E-2 visa regulations implemented in late 2007. All of these articles were published in the Korea Times and written by Kang Shin-who.
Apparently, the writings of a single reporter have played a big role in getting the wrong story out there and mischaracterize the motivations and actions of many of the main players, and even utilizes quotes of questionable origin. Since these are all things that there are ample precedents set for, it is acceptable to retaliate in this manner.
What a nonsensical comparison.
This reporter is a public figure. His name and email address are published at the end of each of his articles. His phone number at work is a matter of picking up the phone and calling the newspaper company. And yes, calling the reporter and asking him about his sources, the veracity of his quotes, as well as other aspects of his reporting is something that is one’s right to do.
The identity of a private citizen ISN’T public, from a name to an email to a telephone number, nor is that person engaging in activity that is inherently public and affects the lives of others.
Your cynical comparison makes absolutely no sense, nor does its implied criticism.
